Studio Aka: TSB: The Story

A delightful 2.5min film about the Reverend Henry Duncan and the history behind the building of the TSB bank.

The result of a collaboration between STUDIO AKA's MARC CRASTE and DAMON COLLINS at JOINT, the film reflects the historic values of TSB's founder and his drive to enable ordinary working people to overcome poverty.
Combining the hand crafted artistry of 2D character animation within a stunningly integrated use of 3D CGI sets, the journey through time is reflected in the film's opening shot; an unbroken take which lasts a whopping 95 seconds.

Shortday - To This Day

I'm starting a new funny name, I like o dedicate one day to my favorite shorts, animation, live action, stop-motion, anything good... so for now on, Saturdays will be Shortday.
And  to begin this recent Short that I really like it.... enjoy.

To This Day Project is a project based on a spoken word poem written by Shane Koyczan called “To This Day”, to further explore the profound and lasting impact that bullying can have on an individual.
Schools and families are in desperate need of proper tools to confront this problem. We can give them a starting point… A message that will have a far reaching and long lasting effect in confronting bullying.
Animators and motion artists brought their unique styles to 20 second segments that will thread into one fluid voice.
This collaborative volunteer effort will demonstrate what a community of caring individuals are capable of when they come together.

TedsDay - Dan Ariely asks, Are we in control of our own decisions?

Behavioral economist Dan Ariely, the author of Predictably Irrational, uses classic visual illusions and his own counterintuitive (and sometimes shocking) research findings to show how we're not as rational as we think when we make decisions.
It's become increasingly obvious that the dismal science of economics is not as firmly grounded in actual behavior as was once supposed. In "Predictably Irrational," Dan Ariely tells us why. Full bio »

Talks - How To Train Your Dragon: Finding the Story

Via Paramount's BD-Live Web portal, there's a truly wonderful 50-minute documentary titled "Finding the Story." This is easily the best feature of the lot, tackling the film's production from more of a technical angle, right down to the grueling editing and post-production process. Why Paramount didn't drop a few of the EPK materials on BD-Live in exchange for this documentary on the disc is truly puzzling, and a little frustrating. Definitely find a way to hook up your BD player to the Internet (if you haven't already), and give this doc a download.
